Last night, I headed down to the Mackay Surf Club just to soak in the atmosphere at the Harbour Moon Market. But as any photographer knows, when the lighting is just right, the community is out in full force, and the energy is buzzing... you simply have to bring the camera out.
I couldn't resist snapping a few frames of the magic, and I've sent a gallery over to the Surf Club team to help them show off just how incredible our local community events are! Here is a little peek behind the lens from a gorgeous night by the harbor.

The Harbour Moon Market had a distinct, laid-back Mackay magic to it last night. Here’s what caught my eye:
Twilight & Market Lights: There is a beautiful, golden window of time right as the sun sets and the market fairy lights start to glow. Capturing the stalls in the golden hour glow was stunning.
Support Local Spirits: From handmade crafts to delicious local eats, I loved capturing the smiling faces of the vendors who pour so much heart into what they do.
Community Connections: Friends bumping into each other, families sharing a bite to eat on the grass, and people just enjoying the ocean breeze. This is what community looks like.
Supporting Local, One Frame at a Time
While I wasn't there on the clock, events like this are the heartbeat of Mackay. As a local photographer, I love using my lens to support the clubs, businesses, and organizers who put these nights together. The Mackay Surf Club did a fantastic job hosting, and I wanted to make sure they had some high-quality visuals to use for their future marketing to keep these markets thriving!
